Small Birds, Big Character

Unique portraits, each with its own individuality. I spent long hours over five months making these photographs. These are wild birds that came to me during the winter months. From several thousand photographs, these selected frames hold the brightest moments. I saw how different the most ordinary small birds can be: excited, curious, confident, aggressive, trusting and grateful. All the frames were deliberately made not with a telephoto lens, but with macro optics. The distance to the birds in the photographs is closer than an outstretched hand, literally 30-40 centimeters.
